General Meeting
Monday, March 20, 2023
5:00pm, Secondary Campus, room 222

Introduction of PTO
Board positions still available:
Den parent advisor for Middle School
Fundraising Chair
PTO is separate from LPS. It exists to support LPS students, parents, teachers, and staff to enhance students education and foster community.
PTO has purchased microwaves for secondary student lunch
Teacher’s lounge coffee station
Doughnuts with Dad
Muffins with Mom
Carnival
Etc.
Upcoming Events:
-Book Fair/ Lunch with a Loved One
April 3-6, 10:00am-1:00pm
We still need parent volunteers. Sign up genius will be sent out for 1 hour blocks.
Looking to find a way to open up the space more and improve the check out process.a
Considering Secondary campus book fair for next year.
-Teacher Appreciation Week
May 1-5
PTO will provide luncheon, breakfast, and coffee for teachers
PTO to help teachers create Amazon Wish Lists to distribute to parents as appreciation gift ideas.
Volunteer sign ups to go out in April for help with events
-Clash of Classes, Secondary’s Field Day
May 19th, 8:00am-3:15pm
This event is through LPS, not PTO, but we will help to organize volunteers
-Elementary Field Day
April 28th
PTO runs the snow cone station and will need volunteers
-In N Out fundraiser
April 12th, 10:00am-1:00pm
Will need parent volunteers to check student lists and supervise students
Pride Patrol
Mondays and Fridays from 10:00am-3:00pm
Parent volunteers needed to manage hallways during class changes. PTO to help LPS to find a volunteer to lead/manage Pride Patrol and to help recruit volunteers.
Parent Surveys
Survey results will be posted on the PTO website
Parents indicated interest in the following events:
Science Fair
Daddy-daughter / Mother-son dance or activities
Pop-up shops for valentine’s and holiday purchases
Parents’ night out events
Calendar of events will be posted on the website
Teacher’s Favorites lists are posted on PTO Webiste
PTO social media will be more active. Communication will be more frequent. Two week notice will be given for all possible events/ activities/ and volunteer opportunities. Options to stream-line PTO communications will be explored.
Membership
350 Families at LPS.
178 members at the regular $15/ family rate.
57 members at the discounted $10 staff rate.
This is a 60% membership rate
Total received in membership dues: $3,240
Suggestions to improve PTO enrollment included hosting a “Tears and Cheers” event and creating signage at the sign-up tables that show what the PTO funds provide for the students and teachers.
